Business Communication Helps Pursue the Organizational Goal—Do You Agree?

What is Business Communication?

Business Communication can be defined as the transfer of business-related messages/information to the internal and external stakeholders of a business organization. The internal stakeholders of business communication may be the board of directors, owners, and employees, etc. The external stakeholders of business communication may be suppliers, distributors, customers, clients, regulatory authority, etc.

“Business communication helps pursue the organizational goal.” I agree with this statement because of following reasons-

(a) Business Communication helps in sharing important messages among individuals, groups, and departments of the organization. All the related parties clearly know their courses of action, and the organization functions smoothly and quickly.

(b) A variety of individuals and groups work in various departments of the organization. Any ambiguity in communication may create conflicts among individuals and groups. Business communication helps to avoid errors, duplication of work, and conflicts among employees or departments.

(c) Business Communication ensures cooperation and understanding among team members. Team members can discuss problems, share ideas, and support each other in completing tasks.

(d) Management communicates organizational policies, goals, and instructions to the employees regularly. The employees also provide feedback regarding any issues, policies, or changes in the policies. This two-way  Business Communication establishes proper direction, discipline, and control in the organization.

(e) Business Communication provides managers with the right and timely information. This is essential for effective decision-making. Departments can coordinate their activities and set functional priorities.

(f) Every department in an organization is interdependent. Business Communication ensures that all departments work in harmony toward common objectives instead of working separately.
